The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) delegation to China has achieved a significant trade milestone by securing orders for 60,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice from leading Chinese buyers in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
This remarkable achievement reflects the growing demand for Pakistani rice in the Chinese market and reinforces the confidence of Chinese importers in the superior quality, distinctive aroma, competitive pricing, and reliable supply of Pakistani rice.
The delegation, led by Mr. Muhammad Jawed Jillani, Senior Vice Chairman REAP, conducted a series of highly productive business-to-business (B2B) meetings with major Chinese rice importers, distributors, and traders. These engagements provided an excellent platform to showcase Pakistan’s premium rice varieties, including both Basmati and Non-Basmati rice, while exploring new avenues to expand bilateral trade and long-term commercial partnerships.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Muhammad Jawed Jillani, Senior Vice Chairman REAP and Leader of the Delegation, described the successful conclusion of the visit as a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s rice export sector. He stated that securing orders for 60,000 metric tons demonstrates the effectiveness of REAP’s continuous efforts to promote Pakistani rice in international markets and strengthen trade relations with China.
He further emphasized that China remains one of the most important strategic markets for Pakistan’s rice industry and expressed confidence that such initiatives will substantially increase Pakistan’s rice exports while deepening economic and commercial cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Mr. Rafique Suleman, Ex-Chairman REAP and Co-Leader of the Delegation, stated that Pakistani rice has earned an excellent reputation among Chinese consumers due to its exceptional quality, rich aroma, consistency, and outstanding value. He added that sustained engagement with international buyers and regular trade promotion activities would enable Pakistan to further expand its presence and market share in the global rice trade.
The REAP delegation expressed its sincere appreciation to the Government of Pakistan, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the Embassy of Pakistan in China, and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou for their invaluable support, cooperation, and facilitation, which contributed significantly to the success of the delegation’s visit and business engagements.
The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Pakistani rice across international markets and to strengthening Pakistan-China trade relations through increased exports, sustainable business partnerships, and enhanced economic cooperation.
