PYMA chief urges political stability, dollar fluctuations control, energy subsidies for industries

Qaisar Shams Ghucha, Chairman of the Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association (PYMA), has emphasised the importance of political stability for economic growth. He stated that Pakistan should take measures to control fluctuations in the dollar’s value, and exporters and industries should be granted subsidies in energy. Ghucha made these remarks during his visit to the central secretariat in Karachi, where he attended a meeting of the PYMA executive committee to discuss various significant issues faced by its members.

Sohail Nisar, Sr. Vice Chairman, Javed Khanani, Vice Chairman PYMA, M. Usman, Khurshid A. Shaikh, Saqib Goodluck, Salim Adaya, Junaid Teli, Khurrum Bharara, Mumtaz ul Haq, Ashraf A. Sattar and Waheed also attended the meeting.

The PYMA chairman urged government departments to take responsibility for implementing policy measures and initiatives for the general public while highlighting the need for improvement in their performance. “Ghucha suggested that the government should facilitate the provision of solar panels under favourable conditions to meet the country’s power demands, thereby stabilising the agriculture sector.”

He also urged the government to provide support and facilities to the small & medium enterprise (SMEs) sector and power looms. Ghucha expressed concern over issuing illegal notices by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to industries, resulting in large-scale closures. He emphasised the urgent need for steps to improve the situation.

Furthermore, the PYMA Chairman commended the efforts made by Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Gen. Asim Munir to revive the economy, expressing his belief that these measures would lead to progress. He predicted an increase in exports and foreign exchange deposits, which would positively impact the general public.

Sohail Nisar, Senior Vice Chairman of PYMA, endorsed the views expressed by Qaisar Shams Ghucha, expressing pleasure at his presence and the anticipation of a stronger future for both regions of PYMA to serve their members better.
