Pakistan Tehrik-e-Shadbad (PTS) will hold its first Foundation Day on August 6, 2023. Lt. Gen (retd) Asad Durrani will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. The party was established by Dr Hanif Mughal on August 6, 2022, in Rawalpindi, with a manifesto to promote education, justice, health, and employment for the masses.
Since then, people from different classes and groups have joined PTS, but it is becoming popular among the exploited poor, labourers, farmers, and students.
Chairman PTS Dr Hanif Mughal said today that PTS wants to bring positive change to society, which is much needed as the economic situation has resulted in unmatched misery for the masses. Leading political parties have done nothing for the masses, which has resulted in widespread frustration as top leaders are focused on their personal welfare.
The downtrodden class, suffering from crushing deprivations, wants a break for which consciousness is necessary, and they must be able to speak for themselves, he said.
The PTS chief said that those with nothing should get the courage and strength to get their rights in a system hijacked by the irresponsible and greedy elite.
Every person in Pakistan should have equal opportunities irrespective of the area, sect, religion, and gender they represent, and the PTS will continue to strive for a society based on social justice, the rule of law, and human dignity, he said.
PTS also wants a better social protection programme for the masses, as almost fifty per cent of the population is food insecure; freedom of the media; and legislation on women’s rights, as women are in the majority in the country and without their active participation, the economy could never progress.
The function will be Presided over by Haji Abdul Rauf, President All Pakistan Tanzeem-e-Mughlia. At the same time, Brig. (retd) Aslam Khan, Dr. Ghulam Hussain, President of Mughal Society of Pakistan Baig Raj, Group Country Manager of United International Group, Dr. Murtaza Mughal, will be Guests of Honour. Renowned broadcaster Naeem Qureshi will be Stage Secretary at the occasion.
