PTCL Group continues to achieve double-digit growth

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s foremost telecom and ICT services provider, announced its financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2025, during a Board of Directors meeting in Islamabad.
The PTCL Group experienced a 15% year-on-year revenue increase, solidifying its position as Pakistan’s leading integrated telecom service provider.
**Financial Highlights:** – The group’s revenue grew by 15%, fueled by significant growth in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise, and carrier wholesale services. – PTCL’s revenue rose by 13% year-on-year, driven by a remarkable 56% increase in Flash Fiber and a 17% rise in Business Solutions. – The Carrier and Wholesale segment recorded a 24% growth, with the international segment also seeing a 6% revenue increase. – Despite achieving an operating profit of Rs. 12.9 billion (up 57% from YTD 2024), PTCL recorded a net loss of Rs. 1.2 billion due to a one-time additional pension liability of Rs. 5.9 billion, following a Supreme Court decision. – Ufone 4G displayed a resilient 15% topline growth and improved its EBIT to Rs. 11.9 billion from Rs. 1.6 billion year-on-year. – U Microfinance Bank (Ubank) saw a 19% increase in revenue.
**Group Highlights:** The Competition Commission of Pakistan approved the proposed acquisition of Telenor Pakistan by PTCL, marking a pivotal moment for the telecom sector’s consolidation. This development enhances PTCL Group’s industry position, promoting connectivity and supporting the government’s vision for a digitally empowered Pakistan. PTCL Flash Fiber continued its dominance, achieving approximately 30% year-on-year growth and maintaining a 35% market share in subscribers. Additionally, the company launched the Tez Raftaar offer, providing affordable high-speed internet access nationwide. PTCL’s business services segment retained its leadership in IP bandwidth, Cloud, Data Center, and ICT solutions, reinforcing Pakistan’s role as a regional connectivity hub. In Q3 2025, PTCL finalized a landmark connectivity agreement with Chinese operators, bolstering east-west digital trade routes.
The company also marked a significant achievement by executing wet segment capacity sales from Singapore to Marseille via submarine cable partnerships. The Enterprise segment expanded into FinTech and secured crucial contracts, while significant M2M deals were finalized with government clients. PTCL experienced robust growth in the Wholesale segment, embracing emerging digital services like Content Delivery Networks and forming strategic partnerships for satellite-based connectivity. Highlighting its innovation, PTCL introduced Pakistan’s first 5G-ready smart residential community, demonstrating its commitment to modern living and future-ready customer experiences. The company also launched automated bill delivery via WhatsApp, simplifying the billing process for customers. In collaboration with Mercantile, Apple’s authorized distributor in Pakistan, PTCL launched the iPhone 17 series, bundled with exclusive offers for Ufone and Flash Fiber services in major cities. This partnership ensures premium, warranty-backed devices along with enhanced digital experiences. Ufone sustained its growth trajectory, achieving a 5.9 percentage-point increase in 4G base penetration to reach 69.2% by September 2025. The company modernized its network by phasing out 44% of its 3G infrastructure and reallocating resources to enhance 4G and VoLTE performance.
Lastly, the Group’s digital and financial services portfolio thrived, with UPaisa recording 1.2 million monthly active users, reflecting approximately 153% year-on-year growth.
