The Pakistan Telecommunication Access Provider Providers Association (PTAPA) represents telecom and internet service providers. This segment is one of the highest tax-paying segments of Telecom Companies Pakistan.

Cable TV Association Pakistan is the representative of cable TV which provides cable TV all over Pakistan.

However, PTAPA management and CAP regret that K-Electric is cutting optical fiber cables from its pole. K-Electric is disrupting telecom services and the Internet by damaging the assets of telecom operators. These cables are making it difficult for the corporate sector, banks, government agencies, the corporate industry, and GSM operators to provide services with these cables. KE has been ruthlessly damaging our Telecom Companies network for the last 15 days and PTAPA Association has raised this issue with the top officials of K-Electric several times but K-Electric is not showing its responsibility in this matter.

Dr. Shahid Farooq Alvi President PTAPA and Irshad Ahmed Memon Vice President PTAPA, Khalid Arain Chairman CAP has appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Governor Sindh, Administrator Karachi, Commissioner Karachi, Chairman PTA, and Ministry of IT to instruct the top officials of K-Electric to take immediate action. Stop cutting telecom cables and disrupting telecom and TV services in Karachi. And we have also requested the KE Chief not to cut the cables till the completion of the KTCC project to transfer the aerial cables to the underground network. And please instruct your officer to stop further cable cutting of the telecom operator. If K-Electric does not stop cutting our cables, we will shut down the internet and cable TV in protest all over Karachi.
