PSX observed a positive session today.

· A positive session was recorded at the PSX today. The market opened in the green and continued to trade in the same zone. The index reached an intraday high of 237.62 points, as investors remained hopeful for releasing the extended tranche of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility. Investor activity increased marginally while volumes across the board increased slightly, with 3rd tier companies topping the volume board.

· The index closed at 40,448.05 up by 201.39pts (+0.50% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Fertilizer (+87.0pts), Commercial Banks (+69.7pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+22.4pts), Textile Composite (+11.4pts), and Technology & Communication (+10.6pts).

· Volumes decreased from 94.8mn to 67.5mn shares (-28.7% DoD). The average traded value also decreased by -25.30% to USD 8.01mn as against USD 10.7mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are KEL, WTL, AGHA, HASCOL and DATM.
