Prime Minister visits earthquake-affected areas in Türkiye

As part of his solidarity visits to Türkiye, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Adiyaman today, one of the worst earthquake-hit cities. Upon arrival , Prime Minister was received by
Mr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade, Mr. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mahmut Çuhadar, Governor Adıyaman and other high ranking officials.

Chairperson Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Group in the Turkish Parliament, Mr. Ali Sahin accompanied the Prime Minister to Adiyaman from Ankara.
 
The Prime Minister handed over relief consignment of winterized tents to Turkish authorities, arriving by a C-130 aircraft from Pakistan. The ceremony was followed by a detailed briefing by the Turkish Disaster Relief Authority, AFAD on the ongoing rescue and relief activities. Appreciating the resilience of the Turkish nation, Prime Minister stated that with “traditional Turkish spirit of overcoming all obstacles and defeating all challenges, the Turkish nation will emerge out of this natural calamity stronger than ever.” He added that Turkiye will always find Pakistan by its side.
 
Later, the Prime Minister visited various parts of the Adiyaman city and interacted with Pakistani Search & Rescue teams carrying out search and rescue operations in the area. The Prime Minister praised their dedication and professionalism and stressed that Pakistan will continue playing an active part in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.

On the occasion, Prime Minister also interacted with the survivors of the earthquake who thanked him for Pakistan’s steadfast and resolute support to Türkiye and for the effective role of Pakistani rescue teams in saving lives.

On the completion of his trip, the Prime Minister departed for Pakistan.
