President KATI forms a collaborative committee in collaboration with the Rotary Club.

The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has taken a significant step towards enhancing community welfare by establishing a novel committee in collaboration with the Rotary Club. This partnership aims to bolster various social projects and promote joint initiatives that address critical needs within the region. In a noteworthy announcement, KATI President Faraz-ur-Rehman revealed the committee’s formation during a ceremony held in honour of Rotary Club International Governor District 3271, Hanif Khan. The committee’s core focus will span an array of activities, including clean and green projects, medical camps, and overall social welfare programs.

Taking on the pivotal role of Chairman of the Coordination Committee is Wajid Hussain, a seasoned figure responsible for overseeing Clean and Green initiatives, Medical Camps, and Welfare projects under the able leadership of President Faraz-ur-Rehman.

The significance of this partnership was highlighted at the event, attended by a distinguished gathering of business leaders and industrialists, including KATI Senior Vice President Nighat Awan, Vice President Muslim Mohamedi, and Rotary Club Deputy Governor Imtiaz Shaikh. President Faraz-ur-Rehman emphasised that the synergy between KATI and Rotary Club signifies a commitment to continuous policy implementation for the betterment of the community.

President Faraz-ur-Rehman underscored the importance of collaboration, acknowledging the role of previous incumbents in supporting new leadership transitions. He stressed the need for policy continuity to foster economic development within the country.

Rotary Club International Governor District 3271 Hanif Khan, the chief guest of the event, shared insights into Rotary Club’s global impact. With a presence in over 200 countries and boasting 1.4 million members, Rotary Club has a rich history of humanitarian service, dating back to its founding in Chicago in 1905.

Governor Hanif Khan applauded Rotary Club’s role in the successful campaign against polio, a disease that was once considered a global threat. Through dedicated efforts and an investment of $2.7 billion, polio has been eradicated from most of the world. However, challenges remain in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where the disease persists.

Highlighting Rotary Club’s commitment during the challenging times of the pandemic, Governor Hanif Khan recalled how the organization continued its humanitarian endeavors, delivering medicines and essential supplies to hospitals and patients.

Furthermore, Governor Hanif Khan affirmed Rotary Club’s dedication to policy continuity, electing officers in advance to ensure the seamless execution of projects over the years. The organization’s proactive response during natural disasters, such as floods, was also highlighted, including the construction of houses for flood victims.

The ceremony served as a reminder of the power of collaboration between organizations with shared goals. KATI and Rotary Club’s joint efforts are expected to usher in positive change and contribute to the well-being of the community.
