Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has inducted a new Aframax oil tanker into its managed fleet, strengthening the country’s maritime transport capacity.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) under Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, PNSC disclosed that the vessel M.T. Karachi, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 109,990 tonnes, has been successfully added to the fleet. The tanker has been inducted through PNSC’s subsidiary, Karachi Shipping (Pvt.) Ltd.
The development follows an earlier disclosure made on October 13, 2025, and is part of PNSC’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernise its fleet. Aframax tankers are widely used for crude oil transportation and are valued for their operational flexibility across regional and international routes.
Market observers note that the addition is expected to enhance PNSC’s cargo-handling capacity, support Pakistan’s energy logistics requirements, and contribute to the company’s revenue base.
