PMLN approached to IMF, Not PPP: Saleem Mandviwalla

Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has refuted the statement of former finance minister, Ishaq dar- who has claimed in talk show that PPP went to IMF. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has termed Ishaq Dar’s statement wrong and baseless.

By putting the record set, He said that Ishaq Dar’s statement is not correct, PPP never went to IMF but it was PMLN who went to IMF. “in-fact Ishaq dar as Finance Minister suggested to go to IMF to the PPP led coalition government in 2008 to get Pakistan out of default”, He added.

Senator Slaeem Mandviwalla pointed out Pakistan’s oil bill was increased from $3 billion to over $12 billion; country was facing huge pressure on balance of payments. Global food inflation was hovering between 35 and 40 per cent and Pakistan was no exception.
