PARCO Oil takes legal course to curb oil pilferage

PARCO Oil Pipelines starting from Karachi to Macchike near Sheikhupura are National Assets and play pivotal role in national economy. PARCO Management takes extensive measures for Pipelines’ security and strongly pursues Pipelines’ litigation cases related to Oil Pilferage.

On July 17, 2019 Honourable Senior Civil Judge Criminal Division, Rajanpur pronounced conviction of seven (7) years with fine of Rs. 0.2 million in FIR 387/13 under Section 462-B PPC lodged at Police Station Fazilpur, Rajanpur by Security Officer, Pak Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO).

On July 24, 2019 Honourable Magistrate Section 30, Rajanpur pronounced conviction of seven (7) years each under Section 462-B PPC and 462-F PPC respectively with fine of Rs. 2 million and ten thousand in FIR 496/18 lodged at Police Station Fazilpur, Rajanpur by Admin Officer, Pak Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO).

Since Enactment of Criminal Law Amendment 2011 in October 2011 by Government of Pakistan, thirteen (13) convictions have been achieved by PARCO under Section 462 B Pakistan Penal Code 1860. Offences under 462 A to 462 F PPC are related to oil and gas theft/tampering etc. Maximum punishment under the law is 14 years non bailable and heavy fine is Rs.10 million.

Convictions in oil theft cases are expected to be great deterrence for notorious criminals who are involved in national level heinous crime of pipeline tampering and oil theft. PARCO stands committed in protection of National Assets and bringing the pilferer to the task.
