Topline Pakistan Research has released a report on the sales performance of Pakistan’s Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), which rose by 7% year-over-year (YoY) and 6% month-over-month (MoM) in August 2025. Sales for 2MFY26 increased by 5% YoY.
According to the data, Pakistan’s OMCs recorded total sales of 1.3 million tons in August 2025, reflecting a 7% YoY and 6% MoM increase. The YoY growth was supported by a gradual economic recovery and reduced smuggling from Iran, while the MoM rise was largely due to a decline in petroleum prices.
– Total sales for 2MFY26 reached 2.5 million tons, indicating a 5% YoY increase compared to 2.4 million tons in 2MFY25. Excluding Furnace Oil (FO), sales in August 2025 totaled 1.28 million tons, reflecting an 11% YoY and 6% MoM growth. For 2MFY26, Ex-FO sales amounted to 2.48 million tons, which is a 10% YoY increase.
– The price of Motor Spirit (MS) decreased by Rs7.54 per liter to Rs264.61, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) prices fell by Rs11.36 per liter to Rs272.99, driven by a 5% MoM correction in international crude oil prices that followed a sharp increase in July due to geopolitical tensions.
– In terms of product sales: MS sales rose 8% YoY and 10% MoM to 675,000 tons in August 2025, while HSD sales rose 14% YoY and 3% MoM to 522,000 tons.
– FO sales in August 2025 fell by 71% YoY but increased by 21% MoM to 19,000 tons. The main sellers of FO this month included CYNERGY, Pearl PARCO, and Attock Petroleum (APL).
– Company-wise, among listed entities, APL reported sales of 112,000 tons in August 2025, down 1% YoY due to decreased FO sales but up 14% MoM due to higher HSD sales. APL held a market share of 8.54% in MS and 8.81% in HSD, reflecting increases of 73 basis points and 72 basis points, respectively, in August 2025.
– Pakistan State Oil (PSO) experienced a 4% YoY and 8% MoM increase in sales, totaling 547,000 tons in August 2025. PSO’s market share in MS and HSD reached 38.97% and 42.30%, representing increases of 39 basis points and 154 basis points MoM, respectively. PSO’s overall market share increased from 41.57% in July 2025 to 42.07% in August 2025, a 50-basis-point rise, primarily driven by gains in the HSD market share.
– Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WAFI) recorded sales of 107,000 tons in August 2025, up 16% YoY and 1% MoM. In contrast, HASCOL’s sales were flat YoY at 42,000 tons but decreased by 7% MoM.
**FY26 Outlook:** We expect oil sales in FY26 to grow in the range of 7-10%.primarily driven by gains in HSD market share.
– Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WAFI) recorded sales of 107,000 tons in August 2025, up 16% YoY and 1% MoM. In contrast, HASCOL’s sales were flat YoY at 42,000 tons but decreased by 7% MoM.
**FY26 Outlook:** We expect oil sales in FY26 to grow in the range of 7-10%.
