Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves stand at US$ 13,403 million

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 13,403.5 million as of 26-Aug-2022. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 7,697.1 million

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks    : US$ 5,706.4 million

Total liquid foreign reserves                 : US$ 13,403.5 million

During the week ended on 26-Aug-2022, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$ 113 million to US$ 7,697.1 million.

SBP has received proceeds of USD 1.16 billion (equivalent of SDR 894 million) from IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) on 31Aug2022 which would be included in SBP’s FX reserve position for the week ending on 02Sep2022.
