Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves rise slightly

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at US$ 21,258.2 million as of January 16, 2026.

According to SBP data:

• Reserves held by the central bank amounted to US$ 16,087.7 million.
• Net reserves held by commercial banks were US$ 5,170.5 million.

During the week ended January 16, SBP’s reserves recorded a modest increase of US$ 16 million, bringing the central bank’s holdings to US$ 16,087.7 million.
