Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan hoped employer organizations would work harmoniously to promote business relations and invest in other countries. The initiative taken by EFP and FUE will surely be a harbinger of more collaboration, cooperation, and camaraderie between the two important organizations. His ministry has given high priority to trade with African countries and requested the Ugandans to promote Pakistani exports not only in Uganda but also in other African countries.
The federal commerce minister spoke at signing a Memorandum of Collaboration, Cooperation, Advocacy, and Lobbying between the Employers Federation of Pakistan and the Federation of Uganda Employers on the sidelines of the FoodAG exhibition. Syed Nazar Ali, Secretary General of the Employers Federation of Pakistan, and Douglas Opio, Executive Director of the Federation of Uganda Employers, signed the Memorandum on behalf of the respective organizations. Chief Executive of TDAP, Zubair Motiwala, Majyd Aziz, Former President of EFP, Nooh Mayambala, Chairman of Islamic Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Shaffi Manafa, Head of Marketing FUE and A. Q Khalil, Former President KCCI, also witnessed the signing ceremony.
Chief Executive of TDAP, Zubair Motiwala, who presided over the ceremony, disclosed that the exports of Pakistani agricultural commodities would exceed $10 billion by June 2026. He expressed his satisfaction that nearly 800 foreign delegates attended the FoodAG and said that it is a manifestation of the recognition of quality products from Pakistan.
He invited FUE to bring a large delegation of Ugandan employers to visit Pakistan, acquaint themselves with the country’s economic progress and a wide variety of products, commodities, and services, and become strong business partners.
While welcoming the guests, former President of EFP Majyd Aziz paid tribute to TDAP for organizing an excellent exhibition and inviting many foreign buyers. “Both EFP and FUE are constituents of ILO and members of the International Organization of Employers. He added that both organizations have also agreed to work together to achieve common goals at ILO.
The Chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Nooh Mayambala, thanked the Commerce Minister and CE TDAP for attending this important event. He also offered the Islamic Chamber’s services in promoting bilateral trade and investment in the future.
