Pakistan to receive $500 million orders at TEXPO 2023.

Pakistan’s textile and leather sector will likely receive orders worth US$500 million upon the successful conclusion of three days of TEXPO 2023, said Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Zubair Motiwala, along with top officials on the second day of the fair, during a media briefing held in Karachi Expo Centre.

Foreign buyers have placed orders worth $250 till mid of the second day. The figure was expected to conclude over $500 million as soon as all feedback is compiled from the participants, Zubai added and said over 1000 B2B meetings were held on the sidelines of the exhibition, which was scheduled for the visit of the general public on the third day.

He said the exhibition would be a turning point for promoting textile and leather exports.

Around 480 delegates and a fifteen members delegation from Russia, Brazil, Poland, USA, UAE, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Sri Lank and imports from over sixties countries have made the exhibition a hub for textile export. CEO of TDAP, while quoting feedback from foreign buyers, has said that people find our products of high quality and cheaper than India and Bangladesh. He said that our textile export is dwindling in the USA but sustained in European Union during this worldwide inflation and slowdown of the economy.

He was sure the export of our leather and products would achieve one billion later this year, and the country’s overall export would increase in this financial year.

The holding of TEXPO Pakistan 2023 was possible due to the sincere efforts and well coordination of officials of TDAP and trade investment officers abroad.

Texpo, Pakistan’s largest textile exhibition, presented a platform for meeting industry specialists in raw materials to finished products with globally competitive prices and premium quality.

The 4th International Textile Exhibition (TEXPO) showcased the textile industry across Pakistan. It brought together textile units reflecting offerings from sectors such as leather garments, gloves, footwear, cotton, embroidery & lace, readymade garments, home linen, towel, hosiery art silk, sportswear & functional fabrics, lace & accessories, denim, knitwear etc.

Recall here that the 4th edition of TEXPO Pakistan 2023, a flagship event of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Ministry of Commerce & Textile, was inaugurated by Mr Shahbaz Sharif, the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, accompanied by Mr Kamran Khan Tessori, Governor of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh, Mr Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Commerce, Mr Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Minister for Planning, Ms Marriyum Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr Tariq Bajwa, SAPM, Dr Aisha Ghaus, Minister of State for Finance, at Expo Center (Karachi). Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqui, Federal Secretary for Commerce, Mr Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive TDAP, Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, Secretary TDAP, President FPCCI, President KCCI and other leading business people also attended the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Expo Centre, Karachi.
