A trade delegation of the Pakistan–Romania Business Council (PRBC) paid an official visit to the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Prahova), where Mr. Atif Farooqi, Head of Delegation and Honorary Consul Designate of Romania in Sindh, met with Mr. Marius Marinescu, President of CCI Prahova. Mr. Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman of the Pakistan–Romania Business Council and Deputy Head of Delegation, accompanied Mr. Farooqi during the meeting.

The meeting focused on strengthening institutional and commercial linkages between Pakistan and Romania, with particular emphasis on building a practical Ploiești–Karachi Energy Bridge. The proposed framework aims to connect Prahova’s established strengths in oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, industrial engineering, energy services, and equipment manufacturing with Pakistan’s growing energy, industrial, infrastructure, and commercial requirements.

The delegation also acknowledged the valuable guidance and support of Dr. Dan Stoenescu, Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, whose encouragement has contributed significantly to advancing institutional engagement, business connectivity, and trade dialogue between Pakistan and Romania. His continued support for the PRBC delegation reflects the importance of sustained diplomatic and commercial cooperation in developing stronger ties between the two countries.

The discussions explored a potential cooperation framework between PRBC and CCI Prahova, including exchanging business information, facilitating trade delegations, targeted B2B engagements, sector-specific business forums, and opportunities for Pakistani and Romanian companies to identify credible commercial partners.
President Marius Marinescu welcomed the PRBC trade delegation and thanked them for the initiative to strengthen ties between Prahova and Pakistan. The meeting reflected a shared understanding that local and regional business institutions can play an important role in expanding bilateral trade and creating new opportunities for enterprises in both countries.

The PRBC delegation expressed its appreciation to President Marinescu and the leadership of CCI Prahova for their warm hospitality and constructive engagement. The visit marks an important step toward establishing a long-term Pakistan–Romania partnership centred on energy cooperation, industrial collaboration, trade facilitation, and people-to-people business links.
