Pakistan foreign reserves stood at US$ 19.6555 billion

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 19,655.5 million on 13-August-2020.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

  1. Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 12,608.4 million
  2. Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 7,047.1 million
  3. Total liquid foreign reserves             : US$ 19,655.5 million

During the week ended 13-August-2020, SBP reserves increased by US$ 139.1 million to US$ 12,608.4 million. This increase in reserves is mainly attributed to proceeds of US$ 249.4 million from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

During the week, SBP also made government external debt repayments of US$ 151.0 million.
