Pakistan Coating Association and TEVTA sign an MoU to elevate skill development in paint and coating sectors.

A delegation led by Senior Vice Chairman Mr M Badar Haroon participated in a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and the Pakistan Coating Association (PCA). The primary objective was to elevate skill development opportunities within Pakistan’s burgeoning paint and coating sectors. This distinguished event was honoured by the esteemed presence of the Provincial Minister for Industries, Mr Shafy Hussan, and the Secretary of Industries for the Punjab Province.

Minister Hussan, in his address, commended the Pakistan Coating Association for their steadfast efforts in fostering state-of-the-art skill development initiatives tailored specifically for their member industries. He pledged unwavering support for TEVTA’s forthcoming endeavour to design specialized curricula for Paint and Ink Manufacturing Diploma programs, a clear indication of the government’s commitment to the industry’s growth. These programs are slated to commence concurrently in Lahore and Texila. Additionally, the Minister extended a warm welcome to the delegation and assured them of state-of-the-art training facilities for the aspiring trainees, further reinforcing the government’s dedication to the partnership.

Emphasizing the paint industry’s growth potential, Minister Hassan urged PCA delegates to reconvene for discussions regarding the feasibility of establishing a Naphtha Cracker Centre in Pakistan. He expressed his readiness to advocate for this initiative at the highest governmental levels, highlighting its potential to not only bolster Pakistani exports but also catalyze industry growth, a promising prospect for the sector’s future.

TEVTA’s commitment to facilitating industry alignment was underscored, with assurances that courses would be tailored according to the sector’s evolving needs. The signing of the MoU between TEVTA and PCA cemented a mutual commitment to elevate Pakistan’s Institute of Paint and Coating Applications to a state-of-the-art institution.

Accompanying Mr M Badar Haroon were notable figures such as Mr M Waqas Mughal, Vice Chairman PCA; Mr Imran Sulehria, Vice Chairman PCA; Mr M Ahmad, EC Member; Mr Kamran Abid, EC Member, and Col. Qamar, Secretary General PCA. Their collective presence underscored the collaborative spirit driving the advancement of Pakistan’s paint and coating industries.
