Zubair Tufail, President of the United Business Group (UBG), congratulated China on the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party and highlighted the 75-year diplomatic ties that have developed into a robust economic partnership. China remains Pakistan’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching approximately US$24 billion, driven by significant investments through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Tufail noted that CPEC has facilitated over US$25 billion in investments, contributing to energy projects, infrastructure, and job creation for over 75,000 Pakistanis. He urged a focus on accelerating the second phase of CPEC, emphasizing Special Economic Zones and sectors like technology and green energy.
He identified substantial investment opportunities in textiles, engineering, and renewable energy, advocating for stronger private-sector collaboration to boost exports. Tufail expressed confidence that Pakistan-China relations will continue to strengthen, paving the way for further growth in trade and investment.
He also recognized Feng Deheng, Acting Consul General of China in Karachi, for enhancing bilateral trade and cooperation. Tufail believes the Chinese Consulate will play a crucial role in reinforcing economic ties and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
