Overall cement demand showed growth during the fiscal year ended 30th June, 2026. According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local sales increased from 37.906 million tons during the fiscal year ended on 30th June, 2025, to 41.507 million tons during the fiscal year ended on 30th June, 2026, representing a 9.5% increase.
On the export side, industry experienced a 2.19% decline as volumes dropped to 9.008 million tons during the fiscal year ended 30th June, 2026, compared to 9.210 million tons exported during the last fiscal year. Overall, the industry achieved growth of 7.21% during the fiscal year ended on 30th June, 2026, with volumes of 50.515 million tons, compared to 47.116 million tons during the last fiscal year.
During June 2026, total cement dispatches were 4.331 million tons, up from 3.658 million tons in the same month of the last fiscal year, an increase of 18.38%. Local cement dispatches were 3.541 million tons in June 2025, up 26.78% from 2.793 million tons in June 2025. Exports despatches, on the contrary, declined by 8.73%, with volumes falling from 865,387 tons in June 2025 to 789,840 tons in June 2026.
In June 2026, North-based cement mills dispatched 3.019 million tons of cement, up 16.39% from 2.594 million tons in June 2025. South-based mills dispatched 1.31 million tons of cement in June 2026, which was 23.23% higher than the 1.065 million tons dispatched in June 2025.
North-based cement mills dispatched 3.019 million tons of cement in domestic markets in June 2026, showing an increase of 26.53% against 2.386 million tons dispatched in June 2025. South-based mills dispatched 522,021 tons of cement to local markets in June 2026, which was 28.24% higher than the 407,069 tons dispatched in June 2025.
There were no exports from North-based mills during June 2026. Exports from South jumped by 20.12% to 789,840 tons in June 2026 from 657,527 tons during the same month last year.
During the fiscal year ended on 30th June, 2026, north-based mills dispatched 34.720 million tons of cement domestically, an increase of 10.8 million tons over the 31.329 million tons dispatched in the previous fiscal year. Exports from North declined by 53.85% to 777,207 tons during the current fiscal year, compared with 1.683 million tons exported during the last fiscal year. Total despatches by North-based Mills increased by 7.53% to 35.498 million tons in the current fiscal year, up from 33.013 million tons in the last fiscal year.
Domestic despatches by South-based mills during the current fiscal year were 6.787 million tons,, shwing an increase of 3.18% over 6.577 million tons dispatched during the last fiscal year. Exports from South also increased by 9.36% to 8.230 million tons during the current fiscal year, compared with 7.526 million tons exported during the last fiscal year. Total despatches by South-based Mills increased by 6.48% to 15.017 million tons in the current fiscal year, up from 14.104 million tons in the last fiscal year.
A spokesman for the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association was optimistic that there would be good demand for cement in the coming months on both the domestic and international fronts. He also stated that the collective efforts of all stakeholders to resolve geopolitical tensions amicably will result in competitive and stable energy supplies and address concerns about high energy and fuel costs.
