PAFLA to hold national recognition ceremony for freelancers

The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) is set to host the country’s inaugural freelancers’ awards ceremony on August 29 at Governor House Sindh. The event aims to recognize the significant contributions of Pakistani freelancers to the economy, particularly in generating foreign exchange.

Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi will be the chief guest, with Federal Minister Shaza Fatima attending as the guest of honor. Freelancers across various categories will be honored, including a special category for female freelancers.

PAFLA Chairman Ibrahim Amin emphasized freelancers’ crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s economic indicators, highlighting that around three million freelancers generated $1.7 billion in foreign exchange in the 2025-26 financial year.

The ceremony will feature notable attendees, including former State Bank of Pakistan Governor Dr. Ishrat Hussain and other prominent figures from the business sector. Dr. Imran Batada, PAFLA President and CEO, noted that the awards aim to bring visibility to the digital workforce and inspire young professionals to pursue careers in freelancing. The judging panel includes industry leaders from various sectors.
