PAFLA and HBL to empower freelancers in Pakistan

Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance banking services for freelancers nationwide. Faisal Malik, Head of HBL Konnect, and Dr. Imran Batada signed the agreement alongside key representatives from both organizations.

Under this MoU, HBL will offer PAFLA members specialized banking products, foreign currency accounts, international payment solutions, and digital banking services. Both organizations plan to support freelancers through financial literacy workshops, educational sessions, and professional-development programs, promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

Ibrahim Amin, PAFLA Chairman, emphasized the vital role freelancers play in the digital economy and their impact on foreign exchange, job creation, and unemployment reduction. With nearly 3 million freelancers, Pakistan ranks as the fourth-largest freelancing market globally. HBL is dedicated to empowering freelancers with tailored financial solutions and fostering upskilling initiatives as the future of work evolves. Muhammad Nassir Salim, HBL President & CEO, echoed this commitment to helping freelancers navigate challenges and achieve sustainable growth.
