OGDCL holds a 3-day free eye surgical camp for marginalised communities

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), in collaboration with Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital Sukkur, held its second three days Free Eye Surgical Camps at the Rural Health Centre Ranipur to ensure the availability of health services to the poor and marginalised communities of Sukkur.

Organised under the OGDCL’s CSR Programme, the Free Eye Surgical Camp reflected the company’s welfare policy towards poor people, particularly those in rural areas.

OGDCL Regional Coordinator Sukkur inaugurated the 3-day Free Eye Surgical Camp. Dr Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti (I/C GIMS Hospital Gambat, Mr Shah Rukh Mangnahar, Assistant Commissioner Ranipur, health department and OGDCL officials, and media persons attended the opening ceremony.

During the three days camp, 1100 patients, including 520 males and 580 females, were provided with OPD services. Furthermore, eye surgeries of 70 patients were conducted, and 617 poor patients were provided with vision glasses.

Furthermore, 33 patients were referred for surgery to Al-Shifa Eye Hospital at Sukkur. The Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital team will review the operated cases after seven days of surgeries.

Assistant Commissioner Ranipur, Shah Rukh Mangnahar, appreciated the OGDCL efforts under its CSR initiative for the under-privilege community of Sukkur. The Al-Shifa Eye Hospital doctors also lauded the OGDCL Regional Office for arranging the free eye camp for the poor and marginalised community.

The local community highly appreciated the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the treatment/surgery and arrangements made by the OGDCL during the 3-day free eye surgical Camp.
