The National Education Foundation (NEF) and Maan Education & Health Development (MEHD) have signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) to collaborate on enhancing access to quality education for marginalized and vulnerable children.

The partnership will focus on improving infrastructure, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), child protection, and community engagement in non-formal education schools. Ms. Tahira S. Shaikh, Managing Director of NEF, emphasized that the collaboration aims to create safer learning environments for underserved children, while Mr. Muhammad Nisar Khan, Chairman of MEHD, noted their commitment to addressing the educational needs of disadvantaged communities.

The initiatives under the LoU will include school improvements, essential facility provision, WASH interventions, and educational support for vulnerable children, ultimately aiming to increase enrollment and community participation in education. NEF has been active since 1996 and currently operates 355 community model schools, providing free education to over 11,000 students.
