NBP boosts environmental commitment with Tree Plantation Drive at Clifton Urban Forest

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resilience through a tree-planting activity held at the Clifton Urban Forest in Karachi. The initiative reflects NBP’s ongoing efforts to contribute towards a greener and healthier Pakistan while supporting national and global objectives that tie sustainability and financial.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Faisal Ahmed Topra, Group Chief Operations, NBP, emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges, saying, “This tree plantation is part of our long-term positive impact for communities and future generations. NBP seeks to raise awareness about environmental conservation and encourage employee participation in community engagement activities.”

Masood Lohar, Founder of Clifton Urban Forest, highlighted, “Today, we have organized this tree plantation activity with NBP. Our dedicated team ensures that these saplings are not adversely affected and grow into healthy trees with proper maintenance within 3-5 years. With a city as big as Karachi, tree plantation is not enough; we should plan urban forestry, and organizations should plan this initiative nationally.”

As one of Pakistan’s leading financial institutions, NBP’s initiatives are geared towards integrating sustainability into its operations and supporting initiatives that promote environmental protection and community well-being.
