Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi has said that there should be no doubts on the CPEC’s benefits for the country’s future, huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources are expected to be explored soon and can be proof a game changer for Pakistan’s economy.
The Naval Chief was addressing a gathering of Businessmen and industrialists on the occasion of his visit to Korangi Association of Trade & Industry(KATI) here on Tuesday.
According to details President KATI Tariq Malik welcomed the chief of Pak Navy and briefed him about the production and economic potentials of Korangi Industrial area and suggested measures to improve maritime trades. Senior Vice President of KATI Salman Aslam, Vice President Junaid Naqi, Former Presidents; Farhan-ur-Rehman, Rashid Siddiqui, Farukh Mazhar, Johar Qandhari and others were also present on the occasion.
In his address to KATI Admiral ZM Aabbasi revealed that huge reserves of Hydrocarbon have been located in Makran region , Chinese expert would soon initiate exploration into the sea. He said that there was a massive campaign to cast doubts about CPEC, but now the nation has understood that this project will prove a game changer for our future and economic strengths. He said there should be no doubts on the CPEC benefits. He said that to give a jack start to maritime economy was one of the three pillars of his command vision. “Business community has a great role to promote the maritime economy” he added. He said that regarding maritime economy and hydrocarbon in our sees there is a great need of academic research and development, keeping this in view Bahria University would be transformed into a maritime university soon. He also told that for applied research in the field a research and technology Park will be established in Karachi in future.
“Our shipbreaking facilities have become outdated since along and now to expend the sector we are bringing opportunities for private sector” he noted. The Naval Chief said that continuity of democracy has strengthen. He said that there was a propaganda to malign the image of Pakistan’s Arm forces on the bases of baseless speculation, but the relation between the forces and the people of Pakistan never been weekend or even get harmed from it.
A presentation regarding maritime security, Trainings, rescue missions and maritime economy prospect was given by a senior official on the occasion.
