Muhammad Ali Jinnah University begins admission test for the fall 2024 semester.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) recently hosted an Open House and an admission test for the Fall 2024 semester. The event featured a medical and mental health camp and student sports competitions. Representatives from the university’s five faculties—computing, Business Administration, Engineering, Psychology, and English—provided valuable guidance to attendees.

Over 1,200 students participated in the admission test, and interviews are currently underway. At the Open House, Esa Laboratory set up a medical camp where MAJU’s staff and students were offered free sugar levels, cholesterol, and bone mineral density (BMD) tests.

Dr. Rehan, a BMD specialist, thanked the university for the invitation. He stated, “We conducted BMD tests for over 100 students and found that 60% do not eat breakfast. Some students even admitted to skipping meals, surviving only on tea and biscuits. It’s crucial to eat breakfast to maintain academic performance. I hope the university continues to organize such camps as they provide essential health services and counselling to students.”

The Psychology Department also organized a mental health camp under the Self-Evaluation Society. Anam, the student in charge of the camp, shared that blood group, blood pressure, and sugar tests were conducted for students, who were also provided with educational materials. “Many students were found to be struggling with depression and mental stress,” she noted. “The camp’s purpose was to counsel students facing everyday challenges, to combat societal despair.”
