Mohammed A. Rajpar elected unopposed as Chairman of PSAA

The Pakistan Ship’s Agents Association (PSAA) convened its highly significant AGM on 26 September 2024 at Karachi Boat Club. The purpose was to elect a Chairman, Senior Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Executive Committee for 2024-2026. Mr Mohammed A. Rajpar was elected unopposed as Chairman of PSAA for the term 2024-2026, with Mr Younus Vayani and Mr Adil Khan assuming the roles of Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, for the same tenure.

The other elected Executive Committee Members are Mr Mazhar Imam Hashmi, Mr Ovais Ur Rehman, Mr Adeel Khalid, Mr Bilal-ur-Rehman, Mr Syed Ayan Saeed, and Capt. Ali Asghar Khan and Mr Murtaza Hussain.

Mr Mohammed A. Rajpar has about 32 years of hands-on experience in the shipping / maritime industry and plays a pivotal role in Pakistan’s ports and shipping industry.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Mohammed A. Rajpar expressed his intention to better and closer collaboration between the maritime sector, the business community, and the government, especially to increase exports from Pakistan.

The incoming Chairman, Mr Mohammed A. Rajpar, appreciated the outgoing Chairman, Mr Abdul Rauf, and his team for their hard work serving the interests of the Ports and Shipping sector, which is vital for every country’s development and economic progress.

PSAA was formed in 1976 and is the largest and oldest Trade Association representing Shipping Lines/Agents. Its 56 members handle all types of cargo, including containerized cargo, liquid cargo, and dry bulk cargo, at Pakistani seaports.

PSAA’s main objective is to resolve problems its members face and positively contribute to the long-term progress of the Ports and Shipping industry in Pakistan.
