Meezan Bank’s President & CEO Irfan Siddiqui has said that stability of Banking sector is a matter of national interest, prosperity of industry and trade is directly link to the prospers banking industry, he was talking to office bearers of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry(KATI) on his visit to the association. On this occasion President KATI Tariq Malik, Vice President Junaid Naqi, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, former Presidents and Chairmen of KATI Zubair Chhaya, Syed Farukh Mazhar, Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui, Akber Farooqui, Dr. Samiuzzaman and others also expressed their view.
President KATI Tariq Malik welcomed the delegation of Meezan Bank’s executives lead by Irfan Siddqui, President & CEO of the bank. He said that industrial sector and SMEs were facing huge burden of exceeding cost of doing business. He said that growth of banking sector in general and Islamic Banking in particular, was remarkable, now banks should play their role to cooperate with industry and Trade by easy processes and low rated lending. He was of the view that Baking Sector ignored SMEs, the most important element of the economy.
Tariq Malik urged Meezan Bank’s officials to focus SMEs and industrial sectors.
President and CEO of Meezan Bank Irfan Siddiqui told the meeting that his banks are working on SMEs sector, R&D was underway and soon new services would be available for SMEs. He said that Meezan Bank is also working on an outreach program for agriculture sector. Chairman and CEO KITE DMC Zubair Chaya and Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan suggested that awareness drives should be launched regarding concepts of Islamic Banking. Irfan Siddqui told that awareness programs and seminars were being arranged for every level of the society including Parliamentarians, Bureaucracy, Business community and other stack holders.
