MD Karachi Shipyard called on KATI

Rear Admiral Ather Saleem, Managing Director Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KSEW) said that efforts to bring foreign investment in shipbuilding sectors were underway while he was addressing a gathering of Industrialists held at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry. On this occasion Patron-in-Chief of KATI SM Muneer, President Danish Khan, Head of KATI’s standing committee on industrial investment and standardization Syed Farukh Mazher, SVP KATI Faraz-ur-Rehman, Zubair Chhaya and others welcomed MD KSEW.

Rear Admiral Ather Saleem briefed about ongoing projects of Karachi Shipyard. He said that in view of increased movement of ships and maritime activities the backdrop of CPEC, there is many opportunities have emerged. SM Muneer said that business community stand firm and united for defense and economic prosperity of Pakistan. He also appreciated the efforts of the MD to bring innovative ideas to make KSEW more proactive and functional.

President KATI Danish Khan briefed about potential and economic importance of Korangi Industrial Area. He said that only industrial growth can provide a comprehensive solution to unemployment challenge. Syed Farukh Mazher said that there is need to promote public private partnership in shipping industry and maritime sector. He also welcomed that current developments regarding shipyard building project in Gawadar. Zubair Chhaya noted that for national causes industry and shipyard could cooperate with each other and it also can help both sectors to uplift the capabilities and interest of their own. On this occasion GM Design & Ship Building of KSEW Commodore(R) Saleem Iqbal briefed the participants of the meeting regarding KSEW ongoing and future projects, through multimedia presentation.
