Mashreq, a leading financial institution in the MENA region, has launched a new cross-border service for Pakistani customers in the UAE, allowing them to open accounts with Mashreq Pakistan remotely via the Mashreq UAE mobile app.
This digital service eliminates the need for physical documents or branch visits, providing a seamless account-opening experience. Pakistani nationals can manage their accounts through a unified global dashboard and enjoy instant, fee-free transfers using the Quick Remit feature.
Fernando Morillo, Group Head of Retail Banking at Mashreq, emphasised the importance of this innovation in reimagining banking for non-resident Pakistanis. Customers opening an account will benefit from a current account with zero minimum balance and a free domestic PayPak debit card.
Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, CEO of Mashreq Pakistan, noted that this service simplifies financial connections for overseas Pakistanis, enhancing the region’s banking landscape.
