MARI added 1 TCF of gas over the past six months

Topline Pakistan Research has reported on the country’s oil and gas production, highlighting that fields operated by MARI contributed 1 TCF of gas over the past six months. Pakistan’s recoverable gas reserves increased by 4.6%, rising from 18,142 BCF in December 2024 to 18,981 BCF. This increase was primarily driven by MARI Energies (MARI) operated fields, which added a total of 996 BCF.
Notable discoveries, such as Soho and Spinwam, contributed 125 BCF and 92 BCF, respectively. Additionally, upward revisions in existing fields—including MARI Deep, HRL, Shewa, and Ghazij—added another 773 BCF. As a result, MARI’s reserve life has extended to 18 years.
Other significant discoveries, including Soghri North (operated by OGDC) and Razgir (operated by MOL Pakistan), contributed additional volumes of 125 and 57 BCF, respectively.
Total gas production over the past six months was recorded at 621 BCF, which implies a reserve replacement ratio of 2.35 during this period.
Moreover, oil balance reserves have increased by nearly 1%, reaching 240 million barrels. This growth was primarily driven by additions from Shewa, which added 2.27 million barrels, and Pindori, which contributed 2.17 million barrels.
The ownership structure of the fields with revisions or additions in reserves is detailed below. below.
