The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) will host AAS-in-Asia 2026, the flagship conference of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS), from September 25–27, 2026. This event marks the first large-scale academic gathering on humanities and social sciences in Pakistan, focusing on the theme “Centering Asia: Refiguring Connections, Recharting Futures.”

The conference will feature over 1,000 scholars from 37 countries, including prestigious institutions like Peking University, Harvard, and Oxford. Dr. Ali Khan, Dean at LUMS, emphasized the significance of the conference in showcasing Pakistan’s contributions to global scholarship.

Keynote speaker Dr. Adil Najam, President of WWF International, will lead discussions on pressing regional issues. The conference will cover various disciplines, offering a platform for Pakistani researchers to present their work internationally. A Scholar Support Fund has been established to encourage participation from across the country.
