Low-Cost LNG expected to save the national exchequer millions of dollars, Malik Khuda Bakhsh

Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Convener of the FPCCI Central Energy Standing Committee, announced that the arrival of low-cost LNG from Qatar is a significant economic and strategic success for Pakistan amid regional tensions. He stated that the country could save approximately $22 to $50 million by importing two LNG cargoes, reducing pressure on foreign exchange reserves and dependence on costly spot-market supplies.

Bakhsh emphasized that these developments would stabilize electricity generation, improve gas supply to industries, and lower production costs, benefiting export-oriented sectors. He credited the effective leadership and diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others for ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies. He believes that continued advancements in the energy sector will help Pakistan overcome its energy crisis and promote industrial growth and economic stability.
