Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has launched its IMO-accredited Staff College facility as a platform for specialised training, seminars, and knowledge exchange for maritime professionals, stakeholders, and academia. The first seminar, “Port Resilience & Maritime Stability,” was held today and focused on maritime resilience, port infrastructure, and Pakistan’s blue economy.
Speaking as Chief Guest, Chairman KPT Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI(M), S.Bt (Retd) highlighted KPT’s strong FY 2025-26 performance and 30-position improvement in the World Bank-compiled Container Port Performance Index and an appreciable increase in the Liner Shipping Container Index, thereby reaffirming KPT’s commitment to excellence.
Commodore Irfan Taj SI(M), the CEO of Monsoon Maritime Services, Syed Tanvir Ahmad and Captain Syed Aziz ul Haque, the Master Mariner, shared their expert perspectives on port resilience, transit trade, regional connectivity and maritime infrastructure. The inaugural seminar was attended by renowned maritime personalities.
The seminar concluded with the distribution of shields and a group photograph.
