Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has signed a contract agreement with Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KSEW) to construct and supply 2 Mooring Boats. This decision was taken in pursuance of the directives of the Prime Minister Task Force to meet the craft requirements of all three ports of Pakistan through KSEW’s local facility.
The agreement was signed by Chairman KPT Rear Admiral Habib-ur-Rehman HI(M) and Managing Director KSEW Rear Admiral Salman Ilyas HI(M). The mooring boats will facilitate KPT’s berthing and unberthing, prevent vessel collisions, tow and escort, handle lines, support cargo operations, respond to spills, and manage waste.
This agreement will promote indignation and save foreign reserves.
