A fishing boat “Muhammad Shah Bukhari” with 22 fishermen on board was reported to be found sinking off near the entrance of Karachi Port around 0830 hours the morning. SOS situation immediately responded by KPT Crisis Management Cell (CMC) and KPOC.

Harbour Master staff took charge of the situation and deployed the tugs “Taqatwar” and “Tanomand” for rescuing the crew members. After recovering the crew, the sunken vessel was towed to Bhit Island.

No casualty is reported and crew members on board the stranded vessel were shifted to KPT Hospital for necessary medical assistance. Prompt action by the CMC and professional response by KPT Tugs averted a crisis situation.
