Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose (Pvt.) Ltd. (KGTML) has signed a landmark agreement with Genma, a global Chinese leader, to procure high-capacity automated bulk-handling equipment. Under this agreement, KGTML will install two unloaders (800 TPH) and two loaders (1000 TPH), significantly enhancing throughput, reducing vessel turnaround time, minimising cargo spillage, and improving safety and environmental performance at Karachi Port.
With this investment, KGTML will become Pakistan’s first dedicated, automated bulk export facility, strengthening the country’s export capabilities, lowering logistics costs, and improving supply chain reliability for domestic industries.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman Karachi Port Trust, Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI (M) S. Bt (Retd), who appreciated the collaboration and highlighted its role in boosting overall cargo handling and future terminal development at the port.
