KATI sees PM support package a step forward for industrialization

Korangi Association of Trade & Industry applauded and welcomed the Industrial Support Package (ISP) announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan and termed it as a positive omen for industrialization in the country.

In a statement released by KATI Patron in Chief SM Muneer said that PM Khan appropriately addressed the concerns of small and medium industries regarding electricity tariffs an peak hours issue. He said that we are hopeful that this initiative would directly affect the cost of production and will increase our competitiveness in international export market. He mentioned that while cost of doing business was one of the biggest hurdles in the increase of country’s export and process of industrialization, PM Khan and his economic team must be congratulated for taking right decision in the right direction, he added.

President of KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman said that it’s a great sign of relief that finally our concerns regarding hostile effects of higher electricity bills on production and export potential finally understood and addressed on the highest level of government. He said that industrialist community has been supporting PM’s vision for promoting industrialization in the country and would continue to support such initiatives. He expressed hope that as PM addressed the concerns of industry regarding electricity tariffs, the same course should be persuaded regarding the long-awaited concerns of industry related to Gas infrastructure cess (GIC). He also lauded the efforts of advisor to PM on finance Hafeez Sheikh and PM’s aide on commerce Razzaq Dawood.
