KATI has launched Thalassemia free Pakistan campaign, Faraz-ur-Rehman

Faraz-ur-Rehman, President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), has launched the Thalassemia Free Pakistan campaign, saying that we want to completely eradicate diseases like thalassemia from Pakistan. The campaign aims to create awareness along with collecting blood donations. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation led by renowned social activist Siddique Sheikh and Kashif Iqbal.

Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Nighat Awan, Vice President Muslim Mohamredi, and others were also present. President KATI said that only one timely test can save the future generation from diseases like Thalassemia. We want to create awareness among people that not only can a timely test before marriage keep the new generation healthy, but it can also make Pakistan free from thalassemia. He said that in this regard, KATI has taken firm steps by launching a comprehensive campaign with Siddique Sheikh and Kashif Iqbal to not only collect blood donations but also to completely eradicate thalassemia from Pakistan.

President KATI said that seminars and information dissemination can control Thalassemia awareness, and awareness is also necessary for blood donations. He said that there are currently around 1 million thalassemia patients in Pakistan whose lives depend on the availability of blood. He said that screening for Thalassemia should also be conducted in the Korangi area, and KATI will continue to take steps for the treatment of patients and blood donations. He said that a healthy society is an emblem of a prosperous country, which is why KATI is determined to eradicate diseases like Thalassemia from Pakistan.

Faraz-ur-Rehman said that we will give our coming generation a healthy and happy future. Therefore, there is a need to create awareness that a normal test before marriage can give a healthy future to the new generation, and those who are affected by this disease can help lead a happy life like ordinary citizens. President KATI also called on the government to launch a campaign to prevent Thalassemia in the country in collaboration with private sectors like the polio campaign.
