Karachi Port Trust (KPT) maintained a robust pace of maritime and cargo operations, handling 91,787 metric tonnes of cargo during the 24-hour period from 0700 hours on 13 September to 0700 hours on 14 September 2026.

The cargo throughput comprised 52,516 metric tonnes of imports and 39,271 metric tonnes of exports, reflecting sustained operational activity and the Port’s continued role as a key gateway for Pakistan’s maritime trade.

During the period under review, 13 ships remained berthed at Karachi Port, while 11 vessels were positioned outside the Port Limit (OPL). Meanwhile, four vessels sailed from the Port, underscoring smooth and efficient port operations.

The cargo handled during the period included 72,996 metric tonnes of containerized cargo, comprising 34,422 tonnes of imports and 38,574 tonnes of exports. In addition, 697 tonnes of break-bulk cargo were handled, along with 3,193 tonnes of ammonium sulphate, 2,720 tonnes of palm kernel expeller, and 8,515 tonnes of rock phosphate.

The overall cargo performance included 88,121 metric tonnes of dry cargo and 3,666 metric tonnes of liquid cargo, demonstrating the Port’s capacity to efficiently handle a diverse range of commodities and cargo categories.

The sustained throughput reflects KPT’s commitment to ensuring efficient vessel handling, uninterrupted cargo operations and reliable maritime trade facilitation, further strengthening Karachi Port’s position as a vital hub for national and regional commerce
