Karachi, 29 September 2026: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) maintained strong and efficient maritime operations, handling 219,377 metric tonnes of cargo during the 24-hour period from 0700 hours on 28 September to 0700 hours on 29 September 2026.

The throughput comprised 139,036 tonnes of imports and 80,341 tonnes of exports. The cargo mix included 88,664 tonnes of containerised cargo, 29,349 tonnes of bulk cargo, 27,266 tonnes of clinker, 11,822 tonnes of cement and 51,900 tonnes of liquid cargo, along with lentils, rice and soya bean seeds.

During the period, 18 ships remained berthed, three vessels sailed, and seven ships were at the Outer Port Limit (OPL). Karachi Port is also expecting 13 vessel arrivals, while three vessels are scheduled to sail during 29–30 September.

The latest operational performance reflects KPT’s continued focus on efficient cargo handling, sustained container traffic, safe handling of liquid bulk and fuels, and efficient discharge of dry bulk commodities, reinforcing Karachi Port’s role at the heart of Pakistan’s maritime trade network.
