Karachi faces environmental challenges: Commissioner

Commissioner Karachi Saleh Ahmed Farooqui said that Karachi is facing severe environmental challenges, to face them all stockholders should work together. He was addressing to a gathering of business community at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI).

On this occasion President KATI Tariq Malik, Senior Vice President Salman Aslam, Vice President Junaid Nqai, Deputy Commissioner Korangi Qurat ul Ain Memon , Ehtisham Uddin, SM Yahya, Assistant Commissioner Korangi Abdul Hameed, Municipal Commissioner KMC Dr Saif , Senior Director Municipal Services Masood Alam and others were also expressed their views.

In his address Commissioner Karachi also urged the business community to participate in plantation drive.

Prior to this Director of KITE Masood Naqi gave a presentation to commissioner regarding development projects in Korangi Industrial Area. He told that 09 development project have been completed in KIA; construction of roads. Masood Naqi told that including installation of street lights, sewerage and other projects are expected to be complete during this year. President KATI Tariq Malik said that KATI would participate in plantation campaign and will play its role to make this successful. Vice President of KATI Junaid Naqi told the gathering that Industrialists community of KIA and public sector institutions will jointly launch “green Karachi” campaign, a plantation drive on large scale, from 14th of August.

On this occasion complains of encroachments and and land grabbing were being put before the commissioner and he directed the concern AC to take action against the culprits and their patrons.
