H.E. Shuichi Akamatsu, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, along with First Secretary Mr. Yuki Ishimatsu, visited the Head Office of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and met with the Chairman of KPT, Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI (M), S.Bt (Retd).

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen maritime cooperation between Pakistan and Japan, enhance bilateral trade, and explore opportunities for Japanese investment in port modernization and logistics.

The Chairman of KPT provided the delegation with an overview of Karachi Port’s transformation and its strategic role as a regional maritime and transshipment hub. Both sides discussed potential avenues for future collaboration and technology exchange.
