(Karachi) Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran Ahmad Muhammadi said that Iran is looking forward for Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan, both countries lack banking channel which is directly effecting business interests of both countries businessmen. He was talking to a meeting here at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI).
Prior to this President KATI Tariq welcomed the CG of Iran and briefed him about Korangi Industrial Area. Vice President of KATI Junaid Naqi, Head of KATI’s standing committee on diplomatic affairs Masood Naqi, Chairman & CEO of KITE DMC Zubair Chhaya also expressed their views on this occasion.
The Iranian CG Muhammadi said that bilateral trade of Iran and Pakistan was facing issues of Tariff bearers, unavailability of banking channel and FTA. He showed hope that these all hurdles would be removed soon. President KATI Tariq Malik said that there is a great potential of improvement of bilateral trade and economic relation of both countries. Masood Naqi said that private sector is ready to play its role for banking channel. Naqi also urged business delegation exchange between both countries. The CG Iran Muhammadi appreciated the proposal and suggestion made by KATI’s office bearers. He said business exhibition held in Pakistan by Iran was a successful event and now we expect same enthusiasm from Pakistani Business community for such events in Iran. He said that he and his team at consulate providing every possible facilitation in visa processing for business community and expect the same gesture form Pakistani embassy in Iran. In this meeting commercial Attaché of Iran to Pakistan Morad Nemati Zargran also told the gathering regarding new developments of bilateral trade relation between Iran and Pakistan.
