Federal Secretary Communications Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has said, on the directive of State Minister for Communications Mr. Murad Saeed, an internal audit team has been established under chairmanship of Mr. Fakharuzzman Ali Cheema Chief Finance and Accounts Officer Communications Division.

Objective of this move is to securitize the accounts of the communications development schemes and to ensure transparency in them. He was presiding over a high level meeting held at Ministry of Communications here today also participated by senior officers of the Ministry.

Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui said, Ministry of Communications is committed to implement the vision of the present government and that pragmatic measures are being taken to ensure transparency and control expenditures in communications projects throughout the country. To this effect, establishment of Internal Audit Team is an important step. He said, Ministry of Communications will extend all cooperation to promote transparency and control expenditure, so that money of public tax could be could be utilized in right way. Continuing he said, austerity measures of the government will also pave the way to reduce load on national exchequer. He said transparency also plays vital role to overcome corruption. Right of access to information will also help prevail transperancy and reduce expenditures to a great extent, he added.
