In a recent meeting, President Faraz-ur-Rehman of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and Chairman Shah Faisal Town, Gohar Khattak, discussed the pressing issues surrounding unjustified notices and harassment faced by industrialists operating within KATI. The meeting also delved into the new demarcation of the Korangi Industrial Area, aiming to clarify industrial zones.

Under the revised demarcation plan, the left side of the Korangi Industrial Area, stretching from Brooks Chowrangi (Godown Chowrangi) to Indus Chowrangi (Singar Chowrangi), falls under the jurisdiction of several townships within Shah Faisal Town.

President KATI, Faraz-ur-Rehman, voiced concerns about multiple complaints from KATI members regarding harassment by authorities and called for removing obstacles in the issuance of trade license fee challans by the town administration. He emphasised the need to address the grievances of industrialists associated with KATI and simplify the process of paying trade license fees.

In response, Chairman Shah Faisal Town, Gohar Khattak, assured President Faraz-ur-Rehman of his full cooperation and pledged to promptly address industrialists’ legitimate concerns. He encouraged KATI members and industrialists to promptly notify their association of any notices or communications from the town administration.

Khattak disclosed ongoing efforts to establish a single-window operation to streamline processes for industrialists. He and President KATI pledged to introduce a more accessible and straightforward system for paying trade license fees. He anticipated that the industrialists in the Korangi Industrial Area would be provided with clarity regarding trade license fee payments in the coming days.

Furthermore, Chairman Shah Faisal Town announced plans to initiate road carpeting projects in various sectors to alleviate the challenges industrialists face, with a commitment to promptly identify priority areas.

This collaborative effort between KATI and Shah Faisal Town officials signifies a commitment to resolving issues faced by industrialists and enhancing the ease of business in the region.
