Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA), emphasized the need to protect the interests of 15,000 petroleum dealers during a crucial meeting with the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) led by Secretary General Nazir Abbas Zaidi. The discussions focused on various challenges facing petroleum dealers, including rising costs, unfair rental practices, and fuel pricing issues.
The PPDA delegation raised concerns about calibration standards, high rental costs for COCO-leased sites, and significant charges on payment methods like PSO and Shell Cards. They also demanded the elimination of franchise fees and voiced concerns over lubricant pricing and the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Bakhsh highlighted the vital role of petroleum dealers in the economy and reiterated the need for practical solutions through ongoing negotiations with oil marketing companies. The PPDA committed to safeguarding the rights of petroleum dealers and ensuring their concerns are addressed.
