Hunarmand Crafts Mela 2020 held at Arts council Karachi with the mutual cooperation of a culture welfare organization.

Arts council of Pakistan Karachi organized a two day Hunarmand mela for the promotion of traditional skills with the collaboration of a welfare organization. In the festival an exhibition of handicrafts depicting the culture of all the provinces of Pakistan has been organized in which the Sindhi Ajrak, Topi, Rilli, Natural dye, Block prints, Jundi work, susi bangles, Khadi, Banarsi dresses were included. In this festival the artisans of interior Sindh showcased their skills. Hala tiles, Kashi’s work and crafts made from stones became the center of attention. The purpose of organizing Hunarmand crafts mela is to praise the skills of craftsmen. In the festival Folk dances were performed on drum beats and flute whilst. Large number of citizens visited the festival and appreciated the work of artisans. This festival will be end on 9th February.

An event to express solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir was also held at the Consulate General of Pakistan Istanbul in which a large number of members of the Pakistani diaspora participated. Speaking on the occasion, the participants expressed solidarity with the people of IOJ&K; called on international community to uphold Kashmiris’ right to self-determination; and put pressure on Indian to end its atrocities.
